KBR has successfully secured a contract to produce licensing and basic engineering design (LBED) to revamp Dorogobuzh JSC’s ammonia plant within the metropolis region of Russia.
The plant was originally created by KBR.
Under the agreement, the corporate can provide its ammonia technology to extend the capability of the plant to 2,100mtpd.
KBR’s revamp technology KBR Reforming money changer System (KRES) are going to be utilized in conjunction with its True Cold Wall Add-on convertor to attain low project price revamping.
This would alter Dorogobuzh to provide low-priced ammonia during a bid to fulfill increasing demand.
KBR technology and consulting president John Derbyshire said: “The application of KRES in conjunction with KBR’s reliable add-on ammonia convertor provides low-priced revamping to Dorogobuzh and various similar plants within the region.

Last month, Dorogobuzh, an Acron cluster company, launched a $75m upgrade project which will increase the capability of its ammonia unit to 2,100tpd from 1,740tpd.
Scheduled to conclude within the last half of 2019, the project is predicted to spice up annual output by 130,000t.
